WebMoney Keeper Light Registration
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, WebMoney Light registration and obtaining of a personal digital certificate take the following steps:
- Read and agree to terms and conditions of WebMoney Light agreement, provide contact information and choose a method to save your private key.
- Generate key pair (private and public key) on your computer, save your private key in a file (if you have chosen a PVK format).
- Request the WebMoney Keeper server to issue a certificate.
- Receive a reply from the server: a certificate in a CER file (a cetificate with the public key in the PKCS#7 standard).
- Save your personal digital certificate with the private key in the certificate store on your computer. If you have chosen PVK, you should save a certificate into a separate file.
Save Private Key into a PFX File
WebMoney Light registration and receipt of the private key in a PFX file take the following steps:
- Generation of key pair (private and public key) on your computer.
- Request to the WM Keeper certification server to create a certificate.
- Reply from the certification server and saving of a personal certificate (with the private key) in the certificate store on your computer.
- Export of the personal digital certificate into a separate file (your private key, public key and WM identifier will be saved in it).
To export your personal digital certificate, you should select Internet Options| Content| Certificates| Personal certificates. You then should select the certificate you have received “WM id” and click “Export”.
Click Demo.
In this dialog box, you should select:
- Yes, export the private key.
- Personal Information Exchange - PKCS#12 (.PFX) (+Include all certificates in the certification path if possible; +Enable strong protection (requires IE 5.0, NT 4.0 5P4 or above); +Delete the private key if the export is successful)
- Password. Be sure that you remember your password. Once it’s lost, it cannot be retrieved.
- Filename
- Make backups of the PFX file on floppies. Keep them and the password in a safe place.
PVK File (Internet Explorer).
WebMoney Light Registration with the private key in a PVK file takes the following steps:
- Choose a name for a PVK file with the private key.
- Generation of key pair (private and public key) on your computer
- Save the private key into a file. The private key will be password-protected.
Be sure to remember this password! Once it’s lost, it cannot be retrieved.
- Send request to the WM Keeper certification server to create a certificate.
- Receive reply from the certificate server if the certificate generation into a CER file is successful (the certificate with the public key will be in the PKCS#7 standard).
- Save the certificate with the public key into a separate file (your public key and WMID will be saved in it).
- Install your personal digital certificate to start using WM Keeper Light. You should use PVKImport (if you do not have this program on your computer, you should download and install it).
- Execute PVKIMPRT.EXE -IMPORT A:\WMID_NEW.CER A:\WM_NEW.PVK for files in the A:\ directory
You can convert .PVK and .CER files into a PFX file, not to execute the PVKIMPRT.EXE -PFX A:\WMID_NEW.CER A:\WM_NEW.PVK command each time.
- Make backups of PVK and CER files on floppy disks, keep them and the password to a PVK file in a safe place. (You can save your CER file with the public key in any place.)
